All the partners from the SSHOC consortium are going to gather in the two days event to discuss about the project and its upcoming developments.
With a duration of 40 months, the SSHOC initiative started in January 2019 and will continue up until April 2022. SSHOC will develop a new cloud-based infrastructure to make data, tools and training available for scholars in the social sciences and humanities.
The event will start on Monday 11th with an introductory speech by Ron Dekker, SSHOC's coordinator and CESSDA director, and will continue with an overview on the project's strategic outlook and on its relationship with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) world. A special focus of the first day will be about the other four ESFRI cluster projects funded as SSHOC under the European Union H2020 Programme “INFRA-EOSC-2018” (ENVRI-FAIR, PANOSC, ESCAPE, EOSC-LIFE), whose representatives will also be present on a dedicated panel.
The second day will be centered on the single work packages and on SSHOC's next steps and timeline. The schedule will also include parallel sessions for WPs and practical activities.
In just two months of activity a lot of work has been done already but there is a long way ahead for the Social Sciences and Humanites Open Cloud. The Kick-off in Utrecht will be a landmark in SSHOC's development and lead the way for the following months.
